ERN is a Spanish pharmaceutical company whose objective, for more than 60 years, has been to identify doctors’ therapeutic needs and to offer solutions.

In 1969 we released the first Spanish penicillin-based injectable with a retard formulation, which permits a single daily administration. More than 30 years later, Penilevel Retard ® still meets with prescribers’ approval.

In 1982 Apiretal ® appeared, the first Spanish Paracetamol in drop form, which innovatively offered paediatricians an antipyretic whose dosage could be tailored exactly to the weight of the child. Aprietal ® is today a reference paediatric antithermic, and can be found in the home of practically every Spanish child.
Twenty years later, in 2002, Citorsal ® was born. An oral rehydration solution which differs from classic rehydration solutions: it tastes good, avoiding the possibility of therapeutic failure due to the rejection which old-fashioned saline solutions provoke in children. In its first year of life Citorsal ® had already proven its great therapeutic worth.

Currently, Laboratorios ERN contributes 20 active principles, spread over more than one hundred products, to the national therapeutic arsenal. Remaining faithful to this record means remaining active in the pharmaceutical sector, adapting successfully to an evolving reality, adapting to the increased technological level of the sector, adapting to the demands of health professionals and adapting to competition.

Today, thanks to its contribution to Spanish therapeutics (supplying more than 12 million units of its products), Laboratorios ERN is an established, independent, national company which is still faithful to the same objective:
